Environmental Stewardship in Small-scale Fisheries, Zanzibar Tanzania

The aim of Abdulaziz Mussa, a Ph.D student at St Mary's University, Halifax, is to document the impact of environmental stewardship in small-scale fisheries by observing community efforts,
achievements, and their challenges in the management of marine natural resources in Zanzibar and
how those efforts affect their lives.

This study will involve communities from coastal areas and villages surrounding marine conservation areas on the two islands of Unguja and Pemba where village leaders, fisheries committee members, local fishers including women engaged in sea cucumber and seaweed farming through questionnaires and video recording.
